Our purpose being to display the unique Mapa Burl root knots with a design providing furthermore value to the unique wood pieces, ‘OXYMORE’ side table came to life…

When Selin KAYA, a student of Product Design at École Boulle in Paris who was completing an internship with our company at the time, suggested this side table design repurposing the tree root knots by displaying them in a design which brings together two different worlds: urban and rural, organic and inorganic, warmth and coldness; we loved the idea.

Hence, ‘OXYMORE’ side table, cohabits two worlds that would usually collide just like an oxymoron who allies two contradictory words, making it a perfect choice for people who can’t seem to choose between two aesthetics (contemporary design and organic design) or two materials (metal and wood), or who just simply fell in love with this design!

The side table design consists of two pyramidical Stainless Steel planes put in an angle, forming the leg, on which a disc is fixed as the top.

We offer two Stainless Steel PVD finishing alternatives for the leg: Black Mirror and Gold Mirror. For the top: we offer Gold Mirror PVD finishing Stainless Steel for the Gold Mirror Stainless Steel leg and Smoked Glass for the Black Mirror Stainless Steel one, through which you can appreciate the beauty of the tree root piece.

Each piece is unique and for now, we have four unique solid wood bases. After examining their photos and making a selection for yourselves, you can purchase them by choosing the metal leg color.

With this remarkable coffee table, Selin KAYA has become one of our talented designers with her first product.
